Free Eye Checkup Programme

Project Drishti organized a free eye check up programme for the benefit of the students of Jain Vidyaniketan in Jakkasandra, Kanakapura Taluk, Karnataka on December 2001. Dr. R Srinivasalu, Program Manager, District Blindness Control Society - Bangalore Rural District, Department of Health and Family Welfare inaugurated the program.

Students were checked for common ailments of the eye and wherever necessary, free spectacles and medicines were issued. The beneficiaries of this program were the needy students of Kanakapura Taluk who are below the poverty line and are receiving free education at Jain Vidyaniketan.
